They say its a sign of a good team to play badly and still win a game and hopefully this was the case today. A opportunist goal from centre forward Ben Ahern was the only difference at half time with Blarney finding themselves quite fortunate to be leading. A tactical switch in the second half saw Oliver Keane's move to the left wing pay off when he smashed home from 20 yards. Kilreen were not giving up wihout a fight and made it 2-1 with fifteen minutes left. A great fingertip save from Blarney keeper Jake O'Leary prevented a certain Kilreen equaliser and from the breaking ball Blarney made it 3-1 with a great strike from Ben Ahern. With five minutes remaining Ben Ahern completed his hat trick with a delicate chip over the advancing Kilreen keeper.
