Girls u14 1 Kinsale 1. On a warm sunny afternoon, the opening 10 minute period saw the Blarney defence under pressure from a strong, physical Kinsale side, but a combination of good defending and safe goalkeeping from Amy Walsh helped Blarney to settle into the game and play a good passing game to create chances at the other end. Half time saw the sides level at 0-0. Blarney started the second half the stronger team and controlling the midfield. Two great saves from the Kinsale keeper kept Blarney out, but again after winning possession in midfield the ball was played out wide for Ella O'Sullivan to race down the wing and deliver a low hard cross to find Caoimhe Twomey, who coolly slotted the ball into the back of the net. 1-0 to Blarney. Kinsale recovered well and after another spell of pressure scored the equaliser with a shot from outside the box. With 15 minutes play left chances fell to both sides, but good goalkeeping kept the score level at 1-1, after an entertaining game of football.
