U16's Lose Out To Avondale

Avery disapointing result for our lads against last seasons div 5 champions.Blarney started brightly and with a bit more luck could have been 2-0 up after 20 mins in a closely contested first half.However with just 30 seconds remaining in the half anondale opened the scoring after a sloppy pass allowed their striker a clear run on goal and he made no mistake with a neat finish.The second half started similar to the first with Blarney creating a few openings but couldnt convert the chances that came their way and enevitably they were punished for their lack of proficency up top when Avondale doubled their lead.Try as they did,blarney just couldnt find a way thru the opposition defence and were undone again by a thru ball as Blarney pressed further up the pitch in search of a goal to spark a come back.Best for Blarney was Dara Walsh and Danny Murphy.
