An excellent team display saw Blarney finally get rewarded for their fine efforts over the last few weeks. It was only a matter of time before the dedication in training and the performances on the pitch would be reflected on the scorebaord. A first-half filled with attacking play saw Blarney hit the net on 3 occasions with goals from Shane O' Shea and Aaron Dorgan. This was backed up by strong defensive display with Sean McCarthy keeping it very tight on the right side of the defensive three, ably assisted by Eoghan Maloney providing him with solid cover in front from the wing-back position. The second half saw the Blarney midfield detemined to push the result home, giving the opposition little opportunity to get back into the game while providing an excellnt attacking platform for the strikers who looked dangerous with every touch. Aaron Dorgan finally put the game beyond doubt after a fine run and finsih, while the best was saved until last with a great team goal. Yet another Wilton attack was cut out by the Blarney defense who moved the ball swiftly to attack where a fine through ball found Conor O'Riordan in space and after a nice first-touch, he finished superby into the far corner. A great team goal to finish a great team display where not only 1 to 11 excelled, but 12 to 16 provided seamless substitutions to show the value of a strong an committed squad.
