U13's Score 12 Goals Against Bantry Bay Rovers

U13 Premier 2nd Round National Cup Bantry Bay Rovers 1 Blarney United 12 We travelled this week to Bantry for 2nd round of National Cup. This was potential bannana skin as we did not know what to expect from Bantry Bay Rovers and the atrocous weather and swirling wind was going to make it very difficult to play in. The lads were very focused and went about their job very professionally from the kick off, they got the ball on the ground and were passing it around very well. Ronan O Brien carried on from where he left off last week and notched up a few goals very early with some great finishing again. This settled the team down and the football that they produced for the rest of the half was a joy to watch. Kelvin O Donghue and Shay Dineen added 1 each and Ronan added another 3 before the end of the half. At half time the score was 0-7 and the Blarney Management team had the luxury of making 4 substitutions. The second half again saw some lovely football being played by Blarney and their were 5 more goals scored by John Lehane (2) Andrew Mc Carthy (2) & Scott Forrest (1). Andrew Mc Carthy with 2 goals and Ronan O Brien with 5 goals stood out for Blarney. This sets us up nicely for next weeks game against Ringmahon @ 11:30am in O Shea Park. Well done lads!!!!
