Another excellent outing from the Blarney boys, once again proving that performances will eventually be rewarded with results. This was a game that Blarney controlled from start to finish with the platform being laid during an all-round solid first-half performance. Startng with a 3-5-2 formation, there was a nice shape to the team, which allowed Blarney to go about their business from the off. It wasn't long befoe the Youghal net was bulging after a great finish by a busy Dylan Constant. This was soon added to by Shane O'Shea whose own hard-work and determination were rewarded with an opportunity that was finished with ease. Coming out into the second half with a 2-0 lead, Blarney were hit with an early breakaway goal, but as yet another sign of the growing maturity of this team, they kept their shape and worked their way back into the game. Further goals from O'Shea, a lovely double from Eoghan Maloney and an audacious 30-yard lob fron Luke Keogh saw Blarney pull-away. The hard-work had been done based on a solid spine from Brian Lowney in goal, Eoin Kirby at centre back and a man of the match performance from Jack Homan in centre-midefield. The Blarney boys could enjoy the last quarter of the game with the points in the bag and look forward to continued progress in the next outing. The hard work is paying off - well done lads.
