U12 - Watergrasshill 2 Blarney 1 Watergrasshill survive Blarney onslaught ! A great, determined, all-round team performance from Blarney went un-rewarded as Watergrasshill managed to hold out as their goal was lierally battered for the entire second half. Blarney started well and remained solid throughout the first-half with Brian Lowney as a commanding presence in goal. Brian could do little to prevent two quickfire goals from the home side as two well-struck efforts gave him little chance.Blarney played their way back into the game and came off at half-time with plenty of positives to take into the second half. There was an immediate response as Shane O Shea finished a good passing move with an excellnt finish. Blarney continued to press for an equaliser and the home team responded to the relentless pressure by moving to five across the back. Blarney created chance after chance but were ultimately denied by some last-ditch defending and good goal-keeping. There were stand-out performances on the right-hand side with Jamie Falvey and Eoghan Maolney who battled solidly throughout. However, this was feature all ovet the pitch as Blarney showed great cour

age with a never-say-die attitude that will stand to them as the season progresses.
