Leeside Blarney Utd V Blarney Utd - 29-Nov-14 Final Score 0-0 Blarney travelled to Leeside for their eleventh league game looking to replicate their hard found victory over the same team at the start of season and maintain their promotion challenge. Blarney started the first half very brightly playing some of their best football of the season and were unluckily not to take the lead when a Billy O’Sullivan cross fell to Adam O’Mahony inside the 6 yard box but his shot was unfortunately dragged wide. Blarney continued to press for a goal for the remainder of the first half only to find the Leeside defence in excellent form. The second half started in a similar fashion to the first as Blarney continued to press home their territorial and possession advantage, Leeside where however dangerous on the break and in one such break missed a great chance on 75 minutes to take the lead when their striker pulled his shot wide from 10 yard. The best chance of the game however fell to Blarney in the 56th minute when Cameron Lynch hit the post from a Adam O’Mahony cross. The game ended 0-0 at full time in an entertaining match and Blarney can take a lot of heart from possibly their best footballing performance of the season against a very good Leeside team. Blarney will now concentrate on their next league match at home to Rockmount December 6th MOM was Billy O’Sullivan.
