Blarney v Kilreen
Blarney had an impressive 5 – 0 home win last weekend against Kilreen Celtic in the U16 division 1 league. Blarney took an early lead on the 3rd minute when Levi O’ Mahony scored after receiving a ball from a free taken by James Dineen. Blarney were very much in control of the game and on the 20th minute Levi O’ Mahony scored his second goal after he received a fine ball from Jason Hogan. On the 35th minute Blarney were awarded another free kick outside the left hand side of Kilreen penalty box. Again Aaron Kirby Hennessy delivered a fine free kick which was flicked into the bottom right hand corner by Conor Power. At half time the Blarney were deservedly up 3 – 0. Blarney continued to be in control of the game in the second half and created many chances. On the 65th minute Jason Hogan received the ball from Levi O’ Mahony, Jason took on and got the better of the Kilreen defence and smashed the ball into the roof of the net from an acute angle making it 4 – 0. On the final few minutes of the game man of the match Levi O’ Mahony got the ball and with a solo performance he got the better of the Kilreen goalkeeper to get his 3rd goal of the day with the final score being 5 – 0. Overall great team performance.
