U13A: Rockmount 1 - 3 Blarney United

We were away to Rockmount today and the lads were totally up for it from the start they got stuck in and kept possession very well we had a few great crosses coming in from the right and left wings . then with some terrific play Niall Cremin , John Lehane Anthony Butler , Fintan Forrest Adam Coulter and Keith o Mahony we finally broke them down for Keith to slot the ball into the back of the net. The lads regained possession from the Rockmount centre almost immediately . Rock mount pressed very hard on the blarney lads and got what they deserved they capitalised on some poor passing and went straight for goal with only Isaac Butler to beat he shot for goal Isaac got a slight touch on it and John Gould tried to run in and clear it off the line only for the ball to beat him to the goal line. The lads didn't like that much and from then on the totally took control of the game , we had a few corners which Niall Cremin delivered perfectly , only needing someone to head them in . Adam Coulter passed the perfect ball to Fintan Forrest and he took on the defence of Rockmount and made them look very poor and he blasted the ball into the net , the Goalie had no chance of stopping it. Half time score Rockmount 1 - 2 Blarney utd subs made at half time Marcus Heinen off Micky Murphy in Neil Vaughan off Evan Lucey in second half started and Rockmount tried to pass the ball around and we soon regained the possession we passed it around very well and attacked there goal with pace , Rockmount were bringing everyone back bar 1 so it was hard to get a clear shot at goal away. as in the first half we had plenty corners from Niall Cremin , we even tried a few short ones that narrowly went wide. Anthony Butler took a fierce shot at the Rockmount goal only for the keeper to get a hand to it and turn it around the post for a corner. as usual it wasn't long before Micky Murphy got his name on the score sheet he took his shot very well. Stephen Roirdan and Cian o Brien were introduced in for Anthony Butler and John Lehane. Rockmount pressed hard to try get another goal only for Sean Leisk to stop them in there tracks . our defence played really well today only for that one moment in the first half but from then they didn't make that mistake again well done guys.
