Roy Keane U13 Premier League Blarney United 3 Douglas Hall 0

Today we played Douglas Hall at home and in fairness to the lads they were determined to keep up our challenge for league honours. We started off well and played some fantastic football with Oiseen O Brien and Kelvin O Donoghue being a constant threat down the left hand side of the pitch. With 8 minutes gone we scored directly from a fantastic corner kick taken by Andrew Mc Carthy.

The lads pushed on for a second goal and some great link play with Jack O Keefe and Scott Forrest saw Blarney create a lot of scoring chances. After 18 minutes a great piece of play on the left by Oiseen and Kelvin saw us being awarded another corner kick this time Jack O Keffe floated in a great ball which was headed into the top corner by Andrew Mc Carthy. Then with 5 minutes to go to half time we got number 3 when Ronan O Brien picked the ball up on the byline and sent in a great ball that was taken down well by Kelvin O Donoughue to shoot past the Douglas keeper. The start of the second half saw Douglas Hall pushing forward to get back into the game but in fairness the Blarney keeper and back four were determined to keep a clean sheet. Blarney pushed on for number 4 and were unlucky with some good shots from Ronan O Brien, John Lehane and Cian Connolly.

The game finished 3-0 with some fantastic football being played by Blarney United. It was a great team performance by all. Well Done!!!

The win keeps us top of the league with another hard home game next week against Riverstown (our last home league game of the season).

Best for Blarney on the day were Oiseen O Brien, Kelvin O Donoghue and Andrew Mc Carthy.
