Carrigaline Hibs V Blarney Utd FC Final Score 0-1 Today Blarney Utd played Carrigaline Hibs in what was seen a must win game for Blarney in their push for promotion. The first half was a very scrappy affair with no clear cut chances for either sides. In the second half Blarney changed tactics going 3 up front as they pushed for the all important first goal. The change in tactics almost bore immediate results for Blarney with Cameron Lynch and Adam O’Mahony unlucky on 2 separate occasions as they found the Carrigaline keeper in excellent form. The deadlock was eventually broken after 15 minutes following a good run by Billy O’Sullivan down the left hand side, Billy passed to Adam O’Mahony and his shot was parried by the keeper and in the resulting scramble Cameron Lynch drilled home from 5 yards. The game ended 1-0 to Blarney against a very tough Carrigaline team. They now go into next weeks match at home to Buttevant knowing that a win will guarantee them promotion. MOM Billy O’Sullivan
