This was always going to be a hard match for the under 13 B's as the league leaders came to O'Shea park looking to put more space between themselves and Passage. However in recent weeks this Blarney team have being improving with every game. Coming off the back great result against Passage having come from behind the Under 13 B's had nothing to fear. The game started at a great pace and indeed it was Blarney that had he first effort on goal with a shot from Sam Bruchet but it didn't trouble the keeper. Then Carrigaline had a great effort well saved by Luke Keogh. This was the trend of the first half right up until 30 seconds before the break. A quick throw by Carrigaline and the blarney midfield getting sucked out to the touch line left space in the middle and Carrigaline moved the ball quickly to the front and took the lead with a well drilled shot. Blarney didn't deserve to go in at the half way mark one down. The second went much the way of the first with both teams having chances, but it was Carrigaline who got the vital second goal that would make it hard for Blarney to get back. But Blarney to their credit never gave up and should have pulled one back with ten minutes to go when Shane O'Shea was one on one with the Carrigaline keeper but the shot went wide. The rest of the game passed by very quickly and entertainingly but Carrigaline ran out winners in a very good game.
