A top of the table clash between the 2 best teams in the league saw Blarney utd come out on top in what was a one sided game from the opening minute.

A terrific passage of play led to blarneys opener when Marcus Heinen ghosted in at the far post to blast the ball home.1-0 soon became 2-0 as Blarney stormed all over the Innisvilla midfield and no. 2 duly arrived when Fenton Forrest put the ball well beyond the goalkeeper and into the far corner. The fantastic start continued when Mikey Murphy thunderd a shot off the cross bar and the home side were in real trouble when Murphy got his reward for his earlier effort when he nodded in over the on rushing Innisvilla keeper.3-0 up at half time was richly deserved and even though the home side got a break when the ball eluded Isaac Butler and crossed the line for an Innisvilla goal Blarney never panicked.

Blarney were in the mood for more goals and Mikey Murphy got his second after terrific work from Keith o Mahony led to Murphy having a clear run on goal and he dispatched his shot expertly beyond the keeper.More drama was to come when John Gould was harshly penalised for a 50-50 challenge and the referee awarded a penalty to the home side from which they scored. That was virtually the last kick of the game and when the referee blew his whistle there were jubilant scenes on the Blarney sidelines led by the coaches Marcus and Mikey, parents and players.

With 1 game to go its going to go down to the wire and a second league title in a row would be just rewards for this fantastic group of players.
